Kanchanaburi, a land of culture and history.
Many temples were built on a hand by hand of people live in the area, reflect
the respectivness of Budhish. Some temples were built on high
mountain very beutifully, that could be seen from a very far distance.
Temples were constructed in an unusual mix of Thai, Indian, and Burmese Buddhist
architectural styles, and the abbot "Lauang Pho Uttama" is highly revered among
local people, including tribal folk and Burmese.

Since Ayuthaya Kingdom time,during a wartime period, this area was the main
trooping route of Hongsaowadee Kingdom army to dominate Ayuthaya.
We call this route "Three pagodas pass" and it also marks the rugged of Thailand
- Myanmar border.
Even though, on the settlement period of Radanagosin(about 220 years
ago), There still was a war. Especially it was in a
changing time of moving a capital from KrungthonBuri to Radagosin (the old
name of Bangkok). They started to move the army, we call "War of nine
troops"....
Hongsaowadee kingdom move their army with about 180,000 soilders devided
into 9 troops. They moved in many routes, "three pagodas pass" was the main
route of their army. A highest supream commander("Johm Tap" in Thai),
Dhabengchavetie King move his troops in this way. The war began...

Kanchanaburi has many native tribes peaple. They lived in this area before a
peaple from other region move in.
- Mon, an ethnic minority whose origin is in Myanmar. Here,
they live peacefully and their tradition has been continually practised. Mon
community is linked with the district(Sanklaburi) by a long wooden bridge.
- Kareng, an ethnic minority people also, whose origin is in
Myanmar-Thailand border(We call this area SibsongPanna), on the north west of
thailand. But they have lived in this area also.
- Lao(Lawa Tribe)
Mainly, these tribes peaple are changing to honor Budh because a strength
of culture from Bangkok and Rangkoon move into their life, but peacefully.
